I liked the way you started with a letter - letters are great ways to introduce the reader to characters and their voices. I think the pacing of the story is a little too fast - I was surprised it ended so quickly. It would be cool for you to pull out one or two of the events that Izz talks about and show the reader how it happens. We only get to hear about these things in a distant manner. Otherwise, good job!
