My suggestion: "Eirwen was still awake, her hands fiddling with an object hanging from her neck. Looking closer, Jason noticed that it appeared to be a small, silver locket. It appeared to have an inscription on it, but he wasn't close enough to make out what it was. He'd never seen it on her before - was it new, or had she just been concealing it?

Of course, I don't know what the locket looks like, and it's different from your writing style, so modify it all you want.

Some may find it to be too much, but I rather enjoy this series. I just admire you imagination. :)

The characters were made wonderfully, the imagery was amazing, and the style was marvelous! This is just so cool! I love the world you made the ideas and this overall is just wow!

First, sorry it took so long for me to return this review. Second, my apologies if I don’t remember details. Third, hope you’re doing well since last we spoke!

Mysteries and Mirrors:

Uh-oh… I guess this is the equivalent of the police investigating him?

Unless they’re going door-to-door (which I get the impression they’re too good to do that), then they should be aware that Blackbird was last seen at the Thorne residence… so why are they asking? I guess they’re going door-to-door.

I kinda wonder if they have lie-detector powers or something. Or maybe just common sense… or the superpower of being able to spot a liar. All the same, I hope Jason gets out of this okay.

I feel like the more obvious question after being shown a sketch of someone is, “Who is it?” Unless, of course, you already know.

So I guess they were going door-to-door after all. In which case, if this is a magic world, they need to get a lie-detector.

Wasn’t he not supposed to open the box?

Also, real nice, opening a mysterious box right after being interrogated by policemen. Hopefully they aren’t watching! Seriously though, he could’ve have waited a few days?

Oh, goodness, is he actually bringing it to school? Yeah, he’ll neeever get caught!

Love your fantasy names. I could never come up with my own. XD

“His dark, hawk-like eyes seem to glower,” should be “seemed.” Love the description, though!

Is this a party of sorts?

I was going to correct your “artefact”... but hey, turns out it’s a British spelling.

Their bird has flown the nest? Which bird? Well, evidently a person, but are they talking about Blackbird?

Oh, it’s a her (from Roderick’s “Let me go after her!”). Who could they be talking about?

Okay, so they lost a (presumably) young girl. Maybe this was hinted to earlier, and you also previously explained who this person is and her importance, so my bad if I forgot.

Again, sorry it took so long to return the swap. You don’t have to return it; in fact, I’d prefer you didn’t, as I am currently drowning in homework as well as reviews I need to finish. It’s been a pleasure swapping with you.

Eirwen's Curse

Is this the first chapter from Eirwen's POV? I can't remember.

I'm not sure what willow bark would taste like, but otherwise it sounds pretty tasty.

I had to look up what a hamadryade was. Never heard that specific term before.

Short chapter, so I didn't have too much to say about it. The title left me disappointed. I thought I'd get answers about Eirwen.
