Description:

*EDITING IN PROGRESS* Ellen is a very unique minded girl who paints extraordinary abstract paintings, but the thing is, all her paintings are about depression, self-injuries, and committing suicide caused by her serious mental disorder of schizophrenia. One day, a new student named Jack comes along, and he's the only person who can understand her paintings and is willing to pull Ellen out of the dark abyss of her mind and into the light of finding out who she really is when depression doesn't cloud her. Though, Ellen's new boyfriend, Rayne, gets Ellen to hang around the wrong crowd, leading her into a whole deeper mess with the issues at home, the bullyng in school, and worsens her mental sickness. However, Jack is still willing to help Ellen see the light through every tunnel. Will Ellen come to find who her real friends are? Will she take that offering hand to no longer being miserable, or choose to stay in her world where she believes that she can handle things on her own?

*THIS STORY IS BASED ON MY PAST EXPERIENCE OF ATTEMPTING SUICIDE, SELF INJURY, DEPRESSION, AND BEING DISTANT.

This was strong. I mean it. That's literally the best word to describe it, I think. You have very few grammar mistakes, and most seemed to be typos, anyways. Watch for awkward sentences- I only noticed a couple. You keep a perfect pace... no lagging anywhere to make the reader bored and no breezy spots that need more detail. You have great balance. I love your characters, even if they are leaning towards cliche. You keep them constantly true to their form, which is great. In Chapter 7, I found it odd that all of a sudden, Ellen and Rayne both stutter a lot. Ellen does it at least three times, and Rayne does it once or twice. It's not a huge problem, obviously, but it just seemed misplaced. Are they nervous around each other? Are they uncomfortable? What is all the stuttering about? I think it would be a good thing to answer those questions in this chapter, or take out all the stuttering. Fantastic story so far! I can't wait to read more! I love the title and the character-definition and the expression in this piece! Keep writing!!! -R.Soland
