Wow, this was amazing! I mean it, this should be the top book on here! I have been obsessed with Phantom of the Opera lately, and I must admit masquerade was playing through my head as I read this. I love the costumes, how the main character was dressed as something so innocent when she was an assassin. And someone dressed as nightmare was a great idea. The ending wasn't totally clear, but I'm pretty sure she dies, right? And it was a little annoying how quickly she fell for a handsome man. This short story just had so much intrigue and such a well described, colorful setting. The plot, the pacing was amazing, it was exciting and tragic. No, I didn't cry at the end, or even feel that sad, just exhilarated. (I wasn't expecting it to end happily) It wasn't a huge mystery, you could probably tell who the man was if you were trying hard to solve it, but it came as a surprise to me as I just let it sweep me away. Anyways, this was wonderful. The only that I would change is make it french instead of english.
