Description:

When Lorabeth decided to fall in love, she knew it wasn't going to be easy. Unlike the bees that she trained, boys were strange, unpredictable creatures. Since the most popular girl in school, Hedda, receives love letters on a weekly basis, Lorabeth thought that taking a peek at those letters would help... or perhaps not. Lorabeth and Hedda are united by a strange deadly fire and a swarm of encroaching predators that threaten the school of apiology. Will Lorabeth be able to find true love and save her school from these mysterious enemies? And what does a coat rack, yellow ribbon, hypnotist, and tapioca have to do with it?

Ch 22. “Mud-scarred boots” soft mud had cut impressions in the boots? Mud-clad boots? What about the beeswax and honey? Wouldn’t the remains of the bees be mangled in with that in a big glob at the base? You may want to even mention the smell of burnt wax and honey. Wax has a long lingering smell - remember blowing out a candle? An unmistakable smell. Yes, of course they should be buried and given a respectful end. I hope you don’t mind these queries? Just a few things I find confusing as I read. You know I think this is a great story. That’s why I instantly come back each time you have posted something new. BTW you have gotten every reaction from me but “blush” on this story. I’m holding out on that for the romance part.

Oh my gosh, this is SO good! I just read chapter one, and now I'm wondering to myself why I had waited so long to start your story! I guess I was just really lazy before: I read the first four words and I guess I didn't want to read about a clock, but it's actually WAY better than that. I can't believe I thought I wouldn't want to read it!

I have another quick question that popped into by head. You wrote that all the bees in the burnt houses were killed. Wouldn’t some of them have gotten out as the house got hotter and hotter? Wouldn’t have all the bees in the other houses been swarming from the heat of the fire, sensing the possible danger? And just an oddity, although it’s probably only my own sense of absurdity, on pg 18 you mentioned “searching for any bees still breathing.” “Breathing” struck me as odd. And as soon as I read it my next thought was “Do bees breathe?” I answered “of course they breathe” But how would we be able to see it. See them actually breathing? Alive, yes, but seeing breathing. Then I had an absurd vision of the headmistress, “Quick, does anyone know CPR. I think this one may still live!” as a tiny bee coughs and sputters, struggling to get a breath. Anyway, just an oddity of my own, I’m sure no one else noticed. Oh, and in the next sentence “Hedda came up beside her” Just because you had talked about the headmistress in the sentence before, I thought Hedda was talking to the headmistress. She was the “her” you referenced. Maybe “me or Lorabeth” would depict Lorabeth better. BTW now 13, as I had to add Hedda to that smug spell check’s vocabulary. The field narrows..!

Hedda said culprits; in the plural!!! Not just once, but twice! Lorabeth only said culprit. Was that a typo or does Hedda secretly know more than we suspect? Hedda certainly isn't making it easy for us to love her, intrigued by her, yes, but we are wary of such a guarded girl. (That’s a Royal “We” by the way. I can’t really speak for anyone but myself) BTW great fix on Ch 18.
