Description:

When Lorabeth decided to fall in love, she knew it wasn't going to be easy. Unlike the bees that she trained, boys were strange, unpredictable creatures. Since the most popular girl in school, Hedda, receives love letters on a weekly basis, Lorabeth thought that taking a peek at those letters would help... or perhaps not. Lorabeth and Hedda are united by a strange deadly fire and a swarm of encroaching predators that threaten the school of apiology. Will Lorabeth be able to find true love and save her school from these mysterious enemies? And what does a coat rack, yellow ribbon, hypnotist, and tapioca have to do with it?

I just found out the in honeybee colonies the queen (if she produces lots of egg) lives up to 3-4 years. But will be quickly replaced if she doesn’t produce at least 1000 eggs a day… WOW! I’m exhausted just reading about that! A worker bee born in the spring or summer will live only 6-7 weeks, while a worker bee born in Autumn will live 4-6 months because their job is to huddle around the queen in the winter to keep her warm. A drone, whose job is to mate with the queen, may live up to 4 months, but usually only for a few weeks as they die immediately after mating. Just thought you might want that info for your story somehow.

Pg 24 – “Be annoying” Wait? Is that a pun? Is Lorabeth saying that the chief of police likes annoying the bees?

Pg 24….! The hum of bees has been strangely quiet lately.

Perhaps they are searching for those delicate, flowery words to collect to bring back and concoct the labyrinth of buzzing in our heads once more.

Ch 17 -

Wow. I am shocked to feel such sympathy for bees. I also like that Lorabeth feels so strongly for bees, even those not her own. It's very sincere. And I wonder why it was only three bee boxes, and not all of them. I like that the threat was embroidered on ribbon; very unique. Hmm. Quite a mystery. I found it ironic that they buried Lily's bees under an ash tree, although I'm not sure you meant it.

The first paragraph of chapter 18 is beautiful; I was about to copy and paste the lines that I liked before I realized it was the whole thing! For some reason I feel Lorabeth's black performer pants are from her father, who is actually dead.

Time for typos: Ch 17, "...unidentifiable wrecks were families of bees once lived." I think you meant "where" not "were". Ch 19 "This elements, over the years, had become comforting to her." I think you mean "these elements". Ch 20 "Your Headmistress asked me to come out here and, ah, clean thing up before early." Maybe you meant "clean thingS up"? Ch 21, "Lorabeth went to one when she was twelve; they practiced on dead ants; she had ring to show for it." That last bit seems to be missing something. Ch 22, "delicate a spun gold" I think you're missing an "s"

I can't wait to see what happens between Petro and either Hedda or Lorabeth!! Personally I think he's sort of between the two girls, but we'll see...
