By 1996, I was fully a romantic seventeen-year-old, in pursuit of all things love, seeking the expression of all passions. I was also naïve, young, and finding that the expression of love and self was a more complicated affair than I possibly imagined.

I wrote a lot of poetry in 1996, and I've re-opened this anthology of poems from time to time, sometimes shaking my head at my naiveté, often chuckling and embarrassed at the awkwardness of the prose, and sometimes envious and amazed at the unbridled expression of my heart.

But, in whatever quality it is, this holds the truth of my experiences 12 years ago, and I've decided to share a few of these experiences with you.
