the ending was kind of =\ for me, compared to the rest of the story, but you could maybe expand on a few more of the points that the other writers mentioned. this is so great, i would read this book if you ever thought to finish and publish it = D
I really enjoyed this! It seems like such a beautiful tradition and the writing is well done. I just long for more details. Did the dad ever have a hit children's book? How did he die? What does the daughter do in her mother town? Just little things. Also the end is very sad and touching but I don't think "the day he died also marked when our tradition died." is a emotional enough ending. I think it's a good sentace but maybe not the right one to end on. I really enjoyed it, so glad it won the Reading Promise Contest!
