Attention all style rookies, trendsetters, and design savvy writers!

You have a unique perspective, a flair for style...and joie de vivre...and je ne sais quoi...and other French words. Like beret. You have one. Or at least, your character does. And that's why you're entering the Teen Vogue Fashion Week Fiction Contest.

Teen Vogue magazine and Figment are teaming up to bring you a fashion-themed contest. Teen Vogue will be hosting the winner's story on during NYC Fashion Week! So get your keyboards and panache ready, because you've got some people to impress and there's room in the spotlight.

Your task is to create a short story, no more than 2,000 words, which centers around Fashion Week. You also must upload a cover for your piece that reflects the fashion you feature/describe. So while we expect descriptions of fashion in the piece, the Teen Vogue editors would also like to see exactly what you mean.

The deadline is Sunday, August 14th (at midnight, ET). Then you have the power to determine the top entries by hearting your favorites; the top 5 hearted entries on Friday, August 19th (at midnight, ET), will go to Teen Vogue to be judged. Finalists will go up on on Monday, August 22nd, and the winner will be published on on Wednesday, September 8th, the eve of New York Fashion Week 2011! The top five finalists will also receive a year's subscription to Teen Vogue, and the winner will receive a signed copy of The Teen Vogue Handbook and a prize pack full of Teen Vogue and Figment goodies. Good luck, figs!
