Hey Everyone!
I was so excited to see this anti-bullying group on Figment! It is so good to know that other people want to end bullying too.
As high school students, three of my friends and I wanted to do something about bullying. We were appalled that our state, Minnesota, has one of the weakest bullying laws in the nation and that students are being harmed every day because of this.
In response, we started an organization called Students Demanding Change. Currently, we are working with the PACER Center to plan a student rally at the Minnesota State Capitol to support anti-bullying legislation. It is scheduled for February 11th (2012) from 12-1 in the afternoon. If you are from Minnesota, I would love to have you come to the rally! If you aren’t from Minnesota, I would strongly encourage you to do something similar in your own state/country. I would be happy to give advice on starting student groups at your school or organizing anti-bullying rallies/movements.
