Around Town:

About Me: I am crazy lucky to make my living writing. That's the first thing. I live in Brooklyn, the happiest place on earth. I love to cook, am slightly obsessive about my kitchen, drink way too much coffee and eat far too much ketchup, even on things like toast and tomatoes. I spend a lot of time on trains, airplanes, subways, and buses, and write constantly—in notebooks, on napkins, using my phone. I have ten tattoos (and counting—sorry, Mom), a wonderful family, and the world's best best friends.

    Before I Fall

What if you only had one day to live? What would you do? Who would you kiss? And how far would you go to save your own life?

  • Delirium

Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn't understand that once love--the deliria--blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold.

  • Pandemonium

I’m pushing aside the memory of my nightmare,
    pushing aside thoughts of Alex,
pushing aside thoughts of Hana and my old school,
like Raven taught me to do.
    The old life is dead.
But the old Lena is dead too.
    I buried her.
I left her beyond a fence,
behind a wall of smoke and flame.

Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bestseller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

Hi Lauren, I'm new on here and I was wondering if you wanted to do a swap on my story 'A Story With A Soul' I only have the first two chapters done so far and looking for feed back on it. If you wouldn't mind checking it out and telling me what you think I'd be greatly appreciated and in return I wouldn't mind checking out one of your stories. Just let me know if you're interested.

Okay. So I just read Before I Fall, which I absolutely fell in love with, which made me want to read more of your books. I started Delirium yesterday, finished it, started Pandemonium, and finished it today, now I'm reading Requiem and I'm loving the trilogy so much! I almost had a heart attack when I found out that Alex had somehow come back from the dead just like Lena's mom (BTW I am aware that her mom wasn't really dead). I came down to dinner stuttering which, frankly, made me look like a lunatic. It's so amazing and beautiful what you can do with words. I was bawling my eyes out for days at the end of Delirium. I called all my friend and told them that they had to read it immediately.

Just curious, would you happen to be doing a tour in California anytime soon?

Even if you aren't, please get back to me on this website. I don't care if it's by a review on a story (which I would be great since you are so amazing at writing) or a random post on my profile page. I am so sorry if I sound like a creepy obsessed kid teen. I just really love your writings.

Hello! I just wanted to say I really enjoyed entering in the Requiem contest. It was a lot of fun to challenge my writing with a short story. Funny story though-I didn't know anything about your books before writing and submitting my short story, Outcast, and then someone commented on my story and told me it sounded a lot like Delirium. Out of curiosity I looked up the summary of your books and sure enough they are very similar! To be honest, I'm kind of bummed about this because I went into the contest thinking I had written a story with a unique plot. Oh well, great minds think alike, I guess! I still find it a bit strange how similar our stories are though without my knowledge of what you're books were about. Haha Have a great day!

I love Delirium (Oh no!) And I cannot wait until Requiem, like I am counting down. It would really be an honor if you would check out my writing and tell me what you think. Team Alex! Thanks :)
