Hey there writer! As autumn fully sets in, and the season of Giving Thanks is now upon us, this year, is looking to put something together that can both encompass and showcase your writing talent, as well as share with other the many forms of giving thanks, and thankfulness comes in. Throughout these next 4 weeks of November, we will be giving writers the opportunity to share their story of a moment in their life where they were extremely thankful for something and or when they gave thanks, and how that came about. We also wish for writers to explain what giving thanks means to them, and how it applies to their day to day life. We will be featuring 7 writers/stories, tops, per week up until ThanksGiving! The submission process is quite simple; simply write-up your story, (be sure to introduce yourself, somewhere within the story), once finished you may either post it on our Figment Wall, or email it to us at If you wish to tell you story in audio format as well (Which we would absolutely LOVE), you may also do that as well by providing a link to your recording.

We hope to hear from you soon!

Query Ready Writers presents a Twitter Pitch Contest

and you don't even have to be on Twitter to enter!

Here's how this Twitter Word Pitch Contest works:

Put together your best 140 CHARACTERS (not WORDS) to describe your 1000 word or fewer story or query letter and post your pitch in the contest thread (Pitch Contest 6/1-6/15).

Don't know how to count characters? Go to and type in your pitch to see if it meets the 140 character max limit. Don't have Twitter? Most word programs can tell you how many characters you have.

Each 140 word pitch will be read for quality, interest and overall flow.

There will be only ONE (1) winner who will be notified no later than June 20, 2015.

The winner will receive a critique and review of the story they pitched. Please note, only the first 1000 words will be reviewed - even if the story is 56,758,204,801 words long.

So what are you waiting for? Give it your best shot - and I'll be the first to say good luck! You're going to need it!

Hey, I'm Soley! I'm new to Figment, and I just really need someone to read + comment or review "What's the Deal With the Andrews?", I just wrote it, and I'd love some feedback. If you choose to review, then under your review just write what you want me to read, or write it on my profile. Thanks! Happy New Years (:
