Around Town:

About Me: Hey ya'll! My name is Meri, as you may have noticed. I am a freshman in college this year, majoring in genetics. I'm an avid reader and writer of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. I'm also a science geek. I have more than a slight obsession with Joss Whedon and his world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in particular the character Spike <3. I've published a short story and an anthology on Kindle, "Anew" and These Four Walls, respectively. I just published my first novel: Nightfall (Brunswick Prophecies #1)!!! It has been a long time coming, and I'm indescribably excited that Brunswick is finally here. ~~~~~~ I'm up for swaps any time. I hope that college will leave me more open to respond to those. So, ask away!

    Nightfall (Brunswick Prophecies #1)

Jason isn't afraid of monsters. He is a native of Brunswick, the small town where the weird, magical, undead, and otherworldly live alongside humans in peace. What Jason does fear is middle school. To his relief, he makes a new friend immediately-Alex, a vampire and fellow Brunswickan. When Jason finds himself pursued by an unknown enemy with deadly intent, Alex and his formidable housemates take the boy under their protection. It soon becomes apparent that the ancient prophecies they have been studying are inextricably linked to Jason's current crisis.
On another continent, a teenager named Richie is desperately searching for someone who might explain why his nightmares come true and how to make it stop. An encounter with a werewolf almost ends his quest for good, but he is rescued by an eccentric stranger who believes Richie can get answers from the maddeningly elusive physician Sally Kitch. Someone, however, is determined that Richie and Sally never meet.

As both boys realize that their problems are much bigger than they could have imagined, battle lines are drawn in Brunswick. Two races of powerful beings gather soldiers and prepare for war, with Jason and Richie caught up in the midst of an incipient Armageddon.

Hello dear figment world, my name is Carlos and I am an aspiring writer who dreams of becoming published. I'm sure I share a similar dream with most of you. I'm on figment in an attempt to build a fanbase and improve my writing. In the few months I've been on this site, I've already learned and improved so much. I would be honored if you were willing to read a short story of mine and provide some feedback. I would be happy to return the favor, just post what you would like me to read on my wall. Becoming a published author is my dream and I've decided to risk everything to chase my dream. I'm taking time off from college to pursue this dream of mine and I would be grateful if you decided to read some of work. If you like what I wrote and only if YOU think I'm worthy of it, I would be honored if you followed me. Thank you for your time and have a lovely day.

Hiya! I've decided to enter my first heart-based contest, the Ink Haiku contest, and I'd greatly appreciate any help! If you don't mind, could you please read my entry An Ocean in a Glass and heart it if you feel it deserves a heart. In return I'll gladly read anything of yours, just let me know on my page and I'll get right back to you ASAP! I hope I'm not being a bother and thanks so much for your consideration!
